Kid-Sized Furiture with Living Room Style

Suzanne in Seattle wrote us and asked about ideas for kids furniture that will still look great in the living room.

We looked around and found some great, fun options. The Jennifer Delonge Parker Child Chair is a wing back chair sized to fit kids 4 years old and up. The Parker chair is available in white or black vinyl for about $499.

We also like the toddler-sized Sleepy Time Rocker by NurseryWorks. At 19 inches tall, it could be a great little addition to your living room. It runs about $325.

If you are looking to spend a little less, we love this birch plywood Trillium Rocking Chair from Roebuck Studios. Courtesy of Cookie Magazine, you can get the Trillium chair for 25% off ($128 instead of $171) by entering the code "OLIE" at checkout when you buy it here.

Babies"R"Us has it on sale on their website right now for $19.99 (it's usually 27.99). A great deal on a truly great product. Choose from three colors-- white, red, or blue.

Baby Gap Pajamas :: eBay Tip

A few months ago, we fell in love with Baby Gap pajamas. We love the fit, the way they wash, the great prints. We love everything but the price-- $22 a pair is not exactly inexpensive.

So to get my Baby Gap PJs fix for less, I checked out eBay. And sure enough, it was teeming with all sorts of NWT (new with tag) Baby Gap pajamas! There were all sorts of sizes and prints. All for around $12 with shipping.

Check it out. Just go to
eBay and search "Baby Gap Pajamas." You can even include the size if you want. Just add "6-12" or "12-18" or whatever size you little one wears. Sleep well.

Jumbo Paint Palate :: On Sale at PB Kids

Who needs a 5 foot long jumbo paint palate? Good question. But for only $39 (it was originally $89) I figured someone out there will be able to find the perfect space to hang it.

PB Kids also sells the over-sized paper roll below it. Super cool. And on sale for just $49. Unfortunately the extra paper is sold out. I'm not sure where you could find paper to refill it, but if you know of a way, what fun!

Bertolli Frozen Dinners

Bertolli frozen dinners may just be the tastiest, easiest, fastest dinner there is.

We tried them for the first time about a month ago. Now we always have one or two on hand for those nights when there just isn't time to make dinner.

All you have to do is dump the contents of the bag into a pan and cover it over medium heat. You stir after 5 minutes, and then wait five more minutes and its done. That's it. 10 minutes from freezer to mouth. And the icing on all of this is that they are actually good.

MiniStar Baby Shoes at Target

These great little shoes are made by Bobux, a New Zeland company who's shoes generally run about $26.

Ministars are sold at Target and are just as cute as their Bobux siblings, for less than half the price-- just $12 a pair.

Check out all the styles here
.

Great Find :: Kipiis Bib Clips

I saw Kipiis for the first time at my favorite baby boutique, Pacifier. And after we started feeding my son solids, I decided to get one and try it out.

The basic idea is that you can clip all sorts of things to it to make a bib. I have used washcloths
, cloth diapers, cloth napkins at home. They all work well.

The best use so far has been when we are out and about. Kipiis fit easily in my diaper bag, and at the restaurant, I just clip a napkin to them. I have used the linen napkins as well as paper napkins, depending on what the restaurant has to offer.

At the end of the meal the dirty napkin stays behind and the Kippiis go back in my bag. Easy. Love it. They typically run around $12. You can find a store locater here.

Target Infant Formula

About a month ago, we decided to take the plunge. We switched from the $24 can of Enfamil to the $11 can of Target Infant Formula. It was a fairly big decision for us-- after all, nutrition is nothing to cut corners on.

But after countless times standing in the Target aisle reading the packages which show that the contents and nutritional values are identical, we decided to try it.

And I am so glad we did. Our son loves it, and so do we. It smells better, stains less, and at less than half the price, how can you go wrong?

Still need reassurance? Check out what parents have to say on the matter at Slave To Target.

Check it out here.

Diaper Dude Bags :: On Sale at Target.com

I buy diaper bags like I used to buy handbags-- often. I am always looking for styles that are functional AND stylish. I spotted these today and love them.

They are by Diaper Dude and are for sale online at Target. There are a bunch of cool styles for dudes and moms-- many of which are either free shipping, on sale, or on clearance.

The two that caught my eye were the gold and the faux patent leather. Both seem like great fall accessories. You can check out the whole collection and get one for yourself here.

Nurseryworks Storytime Rocker -- Half Off

We have always loved the clean, boxy, and fun style of this Nurseryworks rocker.

Now Pacifier, one of our favorite shops, has the "Canvas Brick" version (pictured here) on sale for half off. Instead of $800, it is $400. What a steal!

Favorite Things :: Free Cards

After years of working, I am used to having a business card. And now that I am a mom with a diaper bar over my shoulder and a baby in hand, finding pen and paper to write down my email and phone for a newly met friend after a yoga class or play date is fussy.

I saw these cards a few months ago, and went online and ordered some for myself. They are FREE. You just pay $5 shipping for 250 cards. There are dozens of designs. So cool. I figured they would feel really cheap, but they are actually really nice. There is a small line on the back that basically advertises for the company, but for $5 that doesn’t bother me one bit.

Check it out at: www.vistaprint.com

Great Gift :: Land's End Tote

We received a Land's End Tote as a gift when our son was born, and we just love it. It is personal, practical, and can grow with him for many years.

Since then we have given them as gifts a few times. They are a fun alternitive to registry items, and a safe bet with people you don't know very well. You can buy a medium sized tote with monogram, gift wrap and shipping, for around $40.

Baby Style Halloween Costumes

Baby Style is a company out of California, and they sell the best Halloween costumes around. They have all sorts of fabulous animals and characters to choose from in sizes starting with newborn and going up to 5T. We love how well made they are (much better materials and details than costumes from places like Old Navy). Best of all, they are a steal at around $30 - $40 each depending on the costume. Shipping is just $5.
